House for the People not the Privileged

"But it isn't until a visit to the recessed library that a personality emerges of the loft's mysterious occupant, Bernard. Here personal photos from younger years of attractive girlfriends and pet dogs — as well as faintly bourgeois family paintings and an eclectic collection of books and magazines--hint at the private and privileged lifestyle of APTs occupant.. This is the place where music comes alive." from about APT

Why just put this on a website? Why not post it on the bathroom chalkboards? Would anyone even still care? Why didn't I remember my fellow sci-fi brother-in-struggle's warning that APT turned him away on his birthday and that it should not be patronized by any rebel-rousing, house loverz like us?

anDre, the last time you were here, Osunlade was spinning and you dropped 10 on one drink.. put it 2gether boo!

After having the door shut in my face (!) at the self-proclaimed "exclusive" APT, I yelled in the lobby filled with Manhattan's socialites and socializers of all races eager to use their connections and dropped names to get in: "House is for the People, not the Privileged!" But then again that's just my opinion, Patrick Duffy, the party host of APT's Sunday party and APT's creators apparently hold a different value set.

I wonder what tracks DJ Angola why do i have the feeling that this sistabrotha has is paws all up in this bourgeois endeavour and Neil Aline threw down last night. Maybe Donnie's "Follow me" or Frankie Knucke's mix of "The Pressure" or whatabout Roy Davis Jr.'s "Don't you dare stop loving?" Nah nah, I *hope* they busted out with Inner City's "Good Life." That's what it's all about.

so for those who have noticed, i have not blogged about my health in a minute. that deserves a "hhhmmmmm," right?

is it that everythings been all good?

or have i just not wanted to share bad news?

or maybe it's the fact that it's NOYB! lol. well i'm here to tell you that's it has been a little bit of all three.

some of you who have witnessed my man-titties of late would probably guess that yes, my working out kick has shown results. but then these folks probably haven't seen me since feburary before my two-week cold that didn't subside til my trip to Texas (Fight!). since then my man titties have gone down a couple cup sizes! yes, girl all that hard work. all those fart-inducing protein shakes... all of those hours spent with my fellow skinny boy revolutionary... gone! but the good news (stay with me guys, i'm going around the corner and back on this one) is that the extra pounds were meant as a health parachute - if you will - that if i ever got sick and lost weight i'd go down to a sexy lightweight and healthy size. so yah see it wasn't all vanity! this is why doc threw me that ensure script to - bulk this poz skinny ass up, honey.

but as we all know the hiv ain't no joke. breaking it down in terms that a-not-quite but-almost-a-certified-gym-rat would understand, my doc told me that having the hiv is like eating/makin energy for two ppl! it's like i'm pregant with 50,000 viral loads eating up all my well earned calories and not giving me any kinda cute baby face in 9 months to show for it. aargh!

hearing this put the next bit of news in perspective: my tcells are below 350 and viral load still in the upper 70K or 80k. yES, a big boo! ..so a little backstory, my numbers are the same ones that I got in Feburary but for the reasons discussed above i didn't post 'em. caught up now? ;)

ah so much, so much. in about 2-3 weeks i'm set to go meet with a nurse to go over medz and a week or two after that i'm hookin up with doc to get the 'scrip. looks like i'll score truvada plus kaletra or reyataz. i'll see what happens though. i'm going to get on these medz for good reasons: one of which is obviously how much the virus has control over my diet, and energy consumption, and my overall physical body and health vs. how much the medz could work against that. but there are other reasons that i need to think about before i make a concrete decision.

my plate is pretty full for this next month, but i definitely plan to make time for this reflection.

light,

anDre

The Many Lives of Mizz Information

For those familiar with Descendants of Freedom, you might be shocked to find this out - I first met Mizz Information in 1998 in Austin, Texas. And no, this wasn't no tech diva fighting the evil forces of the status quo-ta circa 2083 in New City/Way of Life (though she has extraordinary time travel capabilities that amongst other things keeps her lookin FIERCE honey... FIERCE!!)... Back in 1998, this incarnation of Mizz411, competed for the prize of being The Forum's drag queen of the night. Pictured above, one can see that she was far ahead of 90s fashion. Just look at how she rawks those pastels. And she got the weav...HAIR that will make even Ms. Ross gag! Legend has it that she turned the crowd out with a wicked mix tape of Madonna, Whitney, and yes CHER, honey (brooklyn's so-called soulful house movement ain't got nothing on this tape!). though judge's of this white southern city would seemingly stand in her way, she wore 'em all out! ahem... so I hear.
